Pilates man of steel completes UK Ironman

Congratulations to London Pilates Studio client Ricky Davis, who has completed the 9th annual Ironman UK triathlon in 12 hours and 3 minutes.  Rickyn interspersed his training – cycling, running and swimming – with workouts from Vanessa Pearce, to help him remain injury free. 

Along with the world’s leading triathletes, the event also attracts a range of entrants of all ages and abilities, each with their own story to tell asn to why they’ve entered this ultimate race of endurance. 

The race was won by Jersey’s Dan Halksworth in 8 hours and 45 minutes.  Stephen Walsh was the last athlete to cross the line in 17 hours 13 minutes.

More than 1,600 athletes from around the world took part in the event, taking on a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run to finish inn Bolton town centre where they were cheered on by thousands of spectators.  Well done to all the athletes.
